I have one week left to top 500 miles for the month, my pb being 417 (I've already done 416 in three weeks) but that included a long ride in Italy.

Think this May was the second month ever I managed more than 1000m. :P

Good ride today. Bold move by Toby - he got behind a large lorry shortly after the main DC , didn't think he'd keep up for long, but he did and even overtook it in the end. Hit 47mph I heard. Aodan, George and myself were chasing what must have been about 1/4 mile behind at that point, but head down I took a wrong turn and Aodan followed me, so we did an extra few miles and Toby was left to cruise alone to Charlwood.

No probs with my bike either!

Marek- every time you are out riding something seems to go wrong with your bike  - broken wheels, chain off, loose nuts  . I had a nice long ride out to Penshurst today, just over 5200 feet of climbing and also some superb carrot cake at the Stalag tearooms :P

Good run out today in glorious weather, even had the chance for a longer appreciation of the blue sky thanks to a puncture on the way back. Thanks for all the calls to check I was okay to fix it. Bloody hot work pumping the tyre back up with a mini pump. If only I was a bit longer in the leg and could fit a frame pump in the main triangle, ah the perils of being short.

I hope it's nicer than it sounds. :D

The "stalag" is really called quaintways tea rooms and it is just that. However the lady (commondant) that runs it can be a bit fierce- no bikes in the garden- loadsa room for them tho' and the barbed wire and gun emplacements are a little daunting at first. :)
Andrew I know zefal do a frame pump in 4 different sizes called the HPX, and that can fit under the top tube or down the seat tube, take your bike with you if you buy one, they are really superb. They go down to 43cm frames i think but i guess you ride a 52/54 so one will fit i'm sure.

Thanks for the advice, it's a 51cm top tube. I'm not sure if there is enough room under the tube with 2 bottles (compact frame) but I'll certainly try them out as I think I only had about 50psi in the tyre after well over 100 pumps and about 5 minutes - not fun.

There are some decent mini pumps out there nowadays.
I use a Topeak Master Blaster Pocket Rocket which is about £12 from Wiggle.
It easily pumps tyres up to 100 psi and it works quite well.
