Just got back from Thursday's ride from Elmers End.

Wow that was a great training ride indeed.

About a dozen of us set off. I think everyone was a racer.

we blasted up the hill at colney hall and from then on things got fast.

The group seemed to split into 2 with the front 5 or 6 of us rotating in a through and off and the others just hanging on at the back in a long line
:o I was feeling really good and was taking more than my share of turns at the front.

One guy told me off for pulling away at the front, he said I should ease off to let the next rider through

Going up the drag to Polegate we were whittled down to just 4 of us on the front into a heavy onslaught of a headwind.
Round the halfway roundabout and back up the hill we regrouped. I felt strong so 3 of us broke away and tanked it full speed ahead up the hill. we started honking hard on the pedals and just the 2 of us remained.

We had to do afew laps of the roundabout to regroup and head back.

I really enjoyed tonight and would definitely go again

Cheers George

The smiling assasin strikes again. Naughty George, haven't you been reprimanded for this type of flashy display of strength before :D Well done mate. It sounds like you need to get together with Paul and do a few of the winter races at Hillingdon. I'm sure you'll make 3rd cat inless than four races :D
