True, the vaseline tip works, Steve Cave gave me the advice at the beginning of the season and it does seem to work.

So its Nivea lotion all around then, have to put it on my christmas list, or I could just buy it for the wife and use it when she is not looking.

Cheers

It stops the sweat from running down onto your glasses or into your eyes. Basically the sweat should dribble down the vaseline to the sides of your face, leaving a clear set of lenses.

Of course you could just rub it into your eyebrows to give you that sheen look.

Stuart, I am now worrying about what your parents think you are getting up to on Saturday mornings when you add Vaseline and tanning cream to your christmas list.

Cheers

I've got some way to go before I reach that point. This morning I managed to stack it while doing precisely 0mph. I was waiting at a temporary traffic light and for no apparent reason, just toppled over. I put on a brave face at the time, but have been grumbling all morning. Ripped my only good tights, an'all :x

Teach you for stopping at a traffic light won't it.

Only kidding, I always stop.

I've done that when trying to avoid de-cleating and holding a lamp post that's a bit too far away. I trust you did the honest thing and looked at the pedals trying to examine and fix the "fault". :D

That's without even starting on the leg shaving debate![/quote]

Nothing as dignified as that, I fear. Ignoring the peals of laughter coming from the line of (motorised) traffic behind me, I attempted to save face by remounting and pedalling off at staggering velocity. But I found my chain had come off and was reduced instead to dragging myself and my bemused steed wretchedly onto the pavement and out of the bleedin' way
