Brighton Run with John C.

A Place to idle the day away talking about anything you fancy. Expect to find cycling and non cycling topics inside

First Saturday in June seems a favoured Brighton Day. At the cafe on Sat 5 May, I said I couldn't make 2 June, and, very obligingly, there was a shout to make it 23 June. Now I find I can't make that day either! :(
So do go ahead with 2 June, or any other date, folks. Sorry to mess you about, Jon and John especially. Hopefully, I'll make another Brighton Run, I fancy the fish and chips - and the company, of course! :) - Roy

Sam,Ritchie and I are really up for the Brighton run but can't do the 2nd June. Riding the Battle and Back Audax next day. Bum just won't cope! Nor come to think of it the 16th - prior engagement in my hectic social calendar! Which leaves the 9th?? Any chance??

The 9th is good with me. In fact the 16th is the only Saturday in June which doesn't work as I am going to a gig.

Due to the key man being away we are looking at Saturday 23/06 for this epic ride....

Should give us a bit more time to get more people interested.

23rd fine for me. Was planning to do the Horsham Cycling 10 that morning, but I know what I would sooner do.

Marco

Good point about the main London to Brighton ride the day after, I'll check and advise.

the last off-road croydon-to-coast was on the day before the london to brighton

the train people were over-zealously rationing the numbers of bikes on trains up to london (or maybe even anywhere - can't remember)

their theory was that quite a few people were taking their bikes up to london in order to do the ride back down the following day, and so they wanted to stop the trains from getting swamped with bikes

as a result we had to wait few hours at brighton station for our alloted train...

23rd looks good for Sam and me :D - not sure about Ritchie. London to Brighton is the 17th - so better avoid the 16th (which i can't do anyway).

[quote]May I suggest 2nd June as the potential ACC Brighton Big Day Out?

That's good for me.

Can't make any others.

The official London to Brighton is Sunday 17th June, so the 23rd should be fine on the trains.

Doh.... the new Jon C beat me to it

Is the 23rd still the most likely date for this ride?
