What do you most look forward to about Spring riding?
The fact that soon I will be able to ride for as long as I want, when I want and where I want.
Is your weight an issue for you? Do you want to be lighter and why? What are you doing to make that happen?
Cycling can be used to control weight. I used to weigh nearer 12 stone. Now I weigh just under 10, and it makes the hills a lot easier
What makes a great cycle route? Is it quiet roads, great scenery, hills or the absence of them? What does it for you?
Good company; not getting dropped or having to wait for others to catch you up - ie similar riding abilities; small country lanes; a few hills for the competition.....and a long straight road bit with a tailwind for that extra excitement! Wahoooooooooooooo! Whoop whoop!
What's your favourite quick pre-ride snack?
Organic jumbo oats with cold milk and raisins. Scrummy.
Where do you shop? High street, supermarket or farm shop?
Supermarket - mostly organic and mostly veg and fruit with a bit of brown rice/ pasta thrown in.
Have you ever done a spinning class? Was it any good? Can it help bike riders?
Yes. Spinning can be really tough and motivating, once the endorphins kick in and everyone in the class is on the same wavelength. I will use it on my 9 week break from cycling to keep the aerobic fitness level up.
