[quote="mlocke"]Andrew who was TT'ing the day after took the shortcut with Ivor back to the cafe.

actually it was Ivor TT'ing.... Andrew was going off on holiday! :)

I didn't think the run was too bad, it was a little "scruffy" at times, and I admit I did cause a bit of a mess when I ran out of legs and rotated off the front rather badly in a bit of a heap.
However I had thought/assumed that the faster groups would be getting closer to training groups in style with the occasional break up and re-formation as people test themselves over hills. Perhaps (and given what others have written) this isn't the case and all the "timed" groups should be run the same as a tidy 2-up rotation at all times.
If so then we need to make the Training B group a permanent fixture perhaps also a little "speech" by VC/C at CSS to remind the group of expected behaviour?

[quote]Once we got going again the pace was brisk but reasonable with the tempo being maintained by Graham O and Andrew G on the front. We were soon at the Reigate steps where I thought I would test the legs and lungs. This evidently seems to have caused something of a complaint amongst some members of our group and for this I apologise.

In my defence however this is something that many other people do each week and indeed I try when I am able to do so and nothing has been said previously. I find that by testing myself here I get a decent gauge as to how I am going to perform for the rest of the ride. As for slowing down at the top I thought this was what was supposed to happen?? People go at there own pace on the hills and regroup at the top?

I generally think this is OK - sometimes there is a problem with bunching as people all try to get to the front so one needs to check for traffic - but this is why they made hills! Occasionally one or 2 ping off the front and the rest of the group is steady which gives everybody options, and then steady to regroup, remembering that there is now a mini roundabout ahead.

Voluminous does exist but you could have had Brobdingnagian as well :D

Chaps,

I didn't see a problem with the 19s on Saturday. The 19s was the first proper group out of CSS on Saturday and so was bound to be a little sprightly in places...

I actually quite enjoyed it, despite me being a bit slow. I noticed that a few of you chaps have got stronger and were giving me quite a hard time. Hopefully soon, the tables will turn...

See ya next time. I might be doing a longer ride on Saturday as I have a sportive coming up so it might not be for a few weeks..

Ta Ta,

Graham.
