I'll speak to you on the club run tomorrow Marco.
I can better explain my actions in person

To Quote Marco :

'If someone were to come to me and say "I have been approached by so and so team and they are gonna give me shorts and jersey and pay half my entry fees" I would tell them to go for it as they arent gonna get another opportunity like this to feel like a pro'

Like I said, why should I bother......?

Initially we shared with you that it is something that the club has discussed and decided against

Then we came around and said ok lets give it a go.

We offer ways of approaching the issue and we offer our help.

You tell us

It's simple really.

And I will be blunt and personal.
I am not naturally talented or gifted at racing. I am proud and supportive of success in our club. I do not commit much time to working hard and training to become a winner. I doubt I will be at such standards. But I love racing and riding and giving it a go. You want to see an aggressive race, watch me (oh on the flat, crits and track - buggered if it goes uphill). I race when I can get there. When I can afford it. When I can get off work early enough etc.

I will work to make the clubs promotions a success, I will work to make your proposal of racing sponsorship a success.

But if the racing team do little of it themselves I will be very pissed off if I am still paying my own race fees and funding the winners prizes. I will be angry if there are racers in our team that arent putting back, aren't helping the club at its core, if I know that that I just gave so much effort and they did sod all themselves.

[quote]Lets not leave it to the same old people to do the above, though they are willing to offer their services.

'You' want it bad enough, show us.
'You' now have the opportunity to make this happen.

Fair point.

Let's get this thing rolling then.
I'll draft up a proposal and bring it along to the club meeting on Wednesday 14th Nov. that'll give enough time for word to spread and people to gather up ideas and opinions.

I'll also be blunt:
I'll help put together a team but training and more importantly, winning comes first.
I'm not a manager or a coach, so we need to tap into the vast knowledge that the senior ACC riders have.

Without the 100% backing of ACC this isn't going to work.

I look forward to being apart of this.
