Dombo, legend.

I used this idea with cars + car insurance when I bought my racer out of the blue.

It worked out great because I've had the bike for 2 years now. PROFIT.

A very nice man just bought me a voucher to go to see Cyclefit... my knees have been killing me for years, I'm hoping they can help sort me out a bit.

Hopefully be off to see them in the next week or two as I can get there mid-week. :D

If you have specific knee problems might be worth going on a Wednesday morning?

That's when they have a physio there who pops in to fitting sessions to give his expert advice if need be...

Went for my session yesterday and was very impressed. First half hour or so was spent checking flexibility, leg length, posture etc and looking at how I pedalled on my own bike set up on a turbo. Then cleats and shoes were checked - cleats worn out so replaced and fitted in exact correct position, insoles removed and foot flexibility also checked. i decided on custom insoles, the same make Sidas that do ski boot insoles which I've had since 1993 and are absolutely brilliant. Then we got on to the infinitely adjustable size cycle to check power output, knee wobble and other bits. Amazing that when various parts were tweaked eg shims under the cleats, saddle fore/aft and height, you could see the power numbers and efficiency values creep upwards for no discernible extra effort.
Finally all measurements were taken and any adjustments made to my bike, apart from the handlebar width which is apparently way too wide both for me and the frame size (44cm c/c on a 55cm frame. I got a fully detailed printout of every measurement which can be used to build a custom bike either from them or elsewhere.
All told took just over two hours and well worth it.
So, on my next CR, as I get spat off the back of the 19s, at least I'll be comfortable and sitting slightly higher in the saddle :D
