I took mine to Cervinia a couple of years ago. Instructor, an Italian ex-downhill racer, laughed at me, said they should go on the wall of a restaurant, until a fast run down to Zermatt where I lost him on his little carvers. To a once-a-year Brit skier it was like dropping Lance on Alpe d'Huez

Found another pair on ebay, from a ski shop clearing their old stock, brand new still in their wrappers and without bindings...for £10. They still had the original price tag of £450!

5'8", about the same as you, and 65kg. They're P6. My old ones were P7 but had lost their springiness. Once you get some speed up and set them on their edges they carve like they're on rails. Good in the bumps too, and powder, crud and ice.
I find modern carvers too light and skittish.
