Seriously though, if you lost only a couple of pounds in weight in the next few weeks you'd get far more benefits than borrowing better wheels for the bike (which even given a REALLY good pair would only save you grams at best), benefits which would still be apparent when you returned the wheels on your return.

Given the time until the event I'm sure you could achieve that???
