Of course, you could try what I thought of doing when faced with the same problem of getting to Scotland - put the bike into a bike bag (or wrap it in bronwn paper - anyone remember the surfboard?) and then it's baggage

I've done that too Amy - six of us were going to Scotland to cycle the West Highland Way...but we were only allowed to take four bikes on the train. We dismantled the other two a bit (wheels, bars, pedals etc) then strapped everything together in an un-bike-like fashion and wrapped it all in a couple of bin bags and sticky tape. Bike? Wot bike?

It's a massive pub with plenty of room so no organizing involved - we do seem to have about 25 people coming though so I'll let the manager know in advance so he can get enough food in.

Just turn up whenever you like after the ride - or just ride straight into the bar :D - we'll probably eat about 7.00ish

Good call, the portions were a bit stingy last time.

Ferry Booked

Out from Portsmouth to Fishbourne at 19:00 on Friday and back at 12:30 on Sunday.

Thought of going via Lymington, but opted for the shorter journey. Hope the traffic is ok.

Ferry booked for both of us, i have also taken the precaution of ordering a green salad and one whelk for my evening meal- of course no alcohol shall pass my lips- i am bringing a drip!
Really looking forward to it, i went on a fairly longish solo today, only 3 hours but boy was i tired at the end, everything ached, ass, feet , shoulders, chalfonts -the lot.
I have not done a lot of riding in the last few months- in fact none in the last 3 weeks due to a long holiday in Italy.
Despite popular belief amongst some of ACCs there are still some restaurants in Campania with food left- although it may have teeth marks in it.

Wahay! Keith and I are now coming too, booked into a nice B and B 15 mins walk from Yarmouth, just enough to blow the beery cobwebs out of the brain during the walk back from the pub.

Fingers crossed everyone for good weather.

Looking forward to it :D
