Thanks Alex
finished at 3:30pm yesterday an hour ahead of schedule with a relatively easy 80miles
which we decided to push a bit as the roads are good and only one real climb
being Bannock Brae

Arrived at the finish line and was met by Jons girlfriend and parents who supplied the champagne

Jon will post a full report in a day or so

Next year?

Withdrawal symptoms maybe we will have to see, but work and reality are a major issue.

Well that's it folks, all done, completed, and home in one piece, a brief summery, we got the train down to Penzance and cycled to Lands End, we spent the first night staying in a Pub listening to a Blues band and drinking beer, the ride out of there in the morning was one of the toughest of the whole ride, we had a lot of rain the first day, and with the sea mist rolling in we decided to stay on the A30 untill it cleared (purely for safety reasons),once cleared we got back on the Atlantic Highway, all was going well untill i broke a spoke about 10 miles away from Great Torrington, we managed to limp in and the landlord of the pub (again) we were staying in drove us to Barnstaple the next day where i had to buy a new rear wheel, with it being a Bank holiday this put us back 3 hours, we then had the pleasure of the camel back wich is a climb of 20% followed by a climb of 25% there was also another long drag from Chedder to Brizol, we didn't get into Chepstow untill 9, what with the wheel etc, they opened the kitchen espeially for us which was great.Day 3 we rode through the wye valley to Whitchurch where we were graced with the best Breckie of the trip, and Steve was woken by pigs by his window, we left there for day 4 in very heavy rain and the worst day of the trip, Widness, St Helens etc are not the greatest of places (they make Croydon look like paradise) we also got lost in St Helens which cost us 2 hours, The ride from Preston to Lancaster was hell, a long straight rode of 35 miles, Mr  would love it :D we then rode through the Yorkshire dales (a ride of 127 miles) to find the restaurant had stopped serving, so it was 2 packs of chedders and a bag of nuts for dinner  Day 5 was a good ride to Moffat in Scotland, where i had my lesson in single malt whiskys :) Day 6 was the best day of the trip, the ride through the highlands and Glen Coe was just amazing with descents which just went on and on and ........ we stayed at a youth hostel at Fort Augutus where i had another lesson in malt whisky :D Day 7 we rode to Donorch where we got lost in Inverness :? and then we rode to the finish which we rode at a quick rate of knots and was probably my 2nd favorite day, we arived 3,30 on our 9th day, there seems to be a day missing somewhere, i'm sure once Steve has read this he can put it right, i'm writing this at work, hence why its a tad slapdash, but you get the idea, a great ride and great company , i would reccomend anyone thinking of doing it to stop thinking and get planning, i found no problems with the legs or fitness, but we had put in a lot of training, my left hand went numb and still is) due to a trapped nerve, and Steve's knee was a tad swollen, but overall a great experiance, i must say a big thanks to Charlotte (my girlfriend) for driving us home :D also to Hal and Huw for their inputs, now go out and do it!!
