Having not gone on a club run for ages I decided to go this staurday, as usual my well honed preparation included wine and snacks the night before with a late rise resulting in a race to CSS to get there before everyone gone. Got there just in time for Monty to see me and wave me on telling me the training group had just left and Simon was just up the road. Stupidly I did as Monty suggested and off I went racing after Simon, I finally caught up with him but between the race to CSS and the chase I was knackered, so sat on Simon's wheel (sorry Simon) for a while. We caught the 19 group and went past with some following, we slipped past at some lights in Reigate and continued the foolhardy chase of the training group. I was just on the verge of letting Simon go when Sylvian turned up and I dropped back and joined him. We then set a more humane pace and eventually the 19'ers caught up and we stuck with them all the way to the cafe, doing a good through and off, keeping everyone together. HAd a welcome recovery break at the cafe. Rode home the short way as no one really up for box hill (except Paul H and one or two others). Got home about an hour earlier than usual. Later on checked the hrm data. Lots of peaks above 190bpm, very ragged profile unlike in a race. I think I need to train for the training group
