I've always preferred the version by Croydon's very own Kirsty MacColl  myself.

Stop it, Mike - you'll set me off  Oh, now look what you've done

Love Kirsty but will always dislike that song. Ruined for me for good and all by that 'orrible medley versh featuring just about everyone - D Bowie excepted - I can't abide, from Bono to 'Montse' Caballé, f'r'eaven's sake :x

Yep- I was alittle hyper myself.

I managed to stay awake until 11ish  , Jo and I were doing the times crosswords! ( well allright i was doing some colouring)

A gentle 1hr spin mid morning on me jacks, but my legs were ok for a change, but they are a bit stiffer now.

What is Andrew on

Sorry to hear about Pete Munden - he was with me, Bus and a couple of others for awhile and then he dropped off the back. We assumed that he'd be picked up (however not literally) by Monty's group behind.

In fact I'm hoping that everyone made it back OK. After Bus's group ran into the down and outs at Warninglid and the pace upped, I'm sure we lost a couple between Colgate and Charlwood. Michelle, I hope you got home OK?

Good day out though - tired but I had been riding quite well, I thought (for me, that is).

I always find that "Entschuldigung bitte, aber meine Beutelmaus hat Verstopfung" goes down a treat.

A very common question indeed- at the last count, about a bottle and a half a day! Tho he is much better now he is off the needle.

Both Amy and Michelle were flying along, especially up those drags-

"Granny" went the shout- Michelle told me she had done a 3 1/2 hour hilly ride the day before :shock  you were both spinning away easily, dropping quite a few of the guys 8) .

I dont know if Michelle turned off, but we did seem to lose a few by the time we had the break at charlwood. And if i remember correctly more than one had the fabled "pork farms reviver"

Amy - you did really well coming up thru the lanes to charlwood, i was pushing close to 22mph- not bad for a fat knacker.

I spoke to Peter Munden this evening, it seems he was separated from us by the spronketts faux flats  .
According to him, he sort of "fell asleep" whilst cycling and awoke just as a large green bush stepped out in front of him.
He has escaped without injury, but the bush has been on the 'phone to "claims direct".

Whilst i am on the subject of sleep cycling, Peter has now got 2 frames that are F####d- is there anybody out there who has an old colnago/pinarello full carbon/bora set up lying about? Thought not- anyhoo he is a poor student and would welcome any spoddy old frame 57/58cm- full dura..........(cont pg94)

Don't speak German but Freetranslation.com gives "Apology please, but my bag mouse clogging has"...... :?

Sorry Amy  but as you ask a couple of Grolsch and a couple of Budvar :D

I tried my best to please the Germans but it's a bugger trying to get a tie that goes with lederhosen.

My word the City is dead on a Monday evening. The restaurant was deserted, and I don't think it had anything to do with the aforementioned trousering.

"Excuse me, but my marsupial mouse (gerbil?) has constipation"

Must use that line next time I'm trying to pull on the Reeperbahn

Yep, that was me. Glad to have helped - I'd lost the main group myself after I had to stop and adjust my speedo magnet from hitting the spokes but wasn't sorry to be easing off, I'd been hanging off the back anyway.

Your tow was most appreciated but I'd bonked.
I'll keep working on my fitness.
