Andrew,
I wasn't comparing the Zak Carr incident, just the fact that these riders were both extremely experienced riders and would have been well aware of what they were doing.

Going back to what Adam said should we be commenting and speculating about what happened when we know none of the relevant facts? The internet and forums like this can easily turn these events in to some kind of freakish analysis of things which noone has a clue about and it seems to me somewhat disrespectful to all those involved. Would you like Jason's family to read this, particularly if your speculation is wrong?

Let the police investigate they are far more likely to determine what happened than anyone on this forum, particularly if you are relying on the Daily Mail for accurate information.

[quote]Jason MacIntyre (...) was training on the A82 road when he was hit by a vehicle, said to be a council vehicle which overtook him and then turned into his path.

Just to underline what Adam and Rich were saying: the initial report seemed to suggest that the driver had overtaken him on the main road itself, then cut across him to turn left; now we know different. This led to an initial stream of invective, here and elsewhere, which now appears quite misplaced.
