There was the occasional exception with a slightly heavier rider but generally the world XC Champs were usually diminutive
Miguel Martinez barely came up to my waist and was light as a sparrow while Margo Fullana and Laurence Leboucher had the profiles of a cigarette paper

At the moment I'm 81kg, and about 1m93. Can't do much about the height, but do want to lose about 5kg before June and the first of my 'big' sportives (Dragon Ride). I am also upping the amount and frequency of weights, push-ups, etc that I do so that not only will I be lighter, but stronger too.

In other words, I want to increase my strength-to-weight ratio.

With the baby coming in May, I may not be riding quite as much as I otherwise would be, so I want to be in tip-top nick to compensate.

The main obstacles to this are the biscuits that the fatties bring in to work - I just can't keep off 'em. Those, and the pain au chocolat I have with an espresso at about this time most workdays - sorry to type with my mouth full

Target weight: 76kg

Edit: Oh, and I suppose I'll have to cut back on the beer and wine, as well

That's the key to success mister

I know a TTer who's putting out 50w more power than me in a test. Went out last week and I dropped him for dead on the first climb and did the rest of the ride on my own.
Let's just say that he takes up more space than I do. A lot more space

Reality check: he ever gets me on the Holmwood course (unlikely) I'm in for a pasting :D

You all make me think i'm a bit lardy at 13 stone
I'm not that fussed about my weight so will set my target in terms of the groups that I ride in.
Currently I am confirtable in the 18's then kill myself on the way back trying to hang onto the lead groups.
By the 1st March (3 club runs) I want to move into the 19's.
May 3rd (10 club runs later) would like to move into tho the next group up - 20mh
Ambtious for me but.......
August 2nd (13 club runs later) would like to move into 21mph's.
If I achieve this I would be very happy

First part of going out with the 19's done if you ask me on Saturday when went the wrong way round with some stupidly fast people in training group B!!! This may have been one week late but I have my reasons and Mr Munnery knows them (wind, no training groups blah blah blah :) )

Looking forward to May 3rd :)

Hmm he's cheating and cutting bits off... either that or he was wearing diving boots for the first weigh in.

[quote="Snoop Doug"]28th November 2007 I weighed in at 71.95kg. 17th Jan 2008 I weighed in at 70.85kg.

So - I'm gonna plump for (geddit....) 67kg in time for the SCCU 50.

Snoop

This morning I'm tipping the scales @ 70.45kg. Slow and steady............damn near stopped actually - need to revisit current consumprion methinks
