Oh what a carry on...

I hope the chap who crashed is ok , I'm not sure of his name either.

After the ambulance whisked him away I set off after the others going up Star Hill .

Dombo was at the top talking to a couple of mtbers when Mike and I arrived , there was this loud smacking sound and I couldnt believe it ...a passing car had clipped Dombo on the 'arris with his wing mirror....

Oh well some people pay good money for that kind of thing

Next Sunday anyone ....hahahahahaha

We could record a remix of Kraftwerk's Tour de France, freewheels noises etc replaced by the slapping sound or wing mirrors on backsides, the groans of three people carrying a bike in bits, the scrape of sti levers on tarmac, and the graunching noise of a jammed chain  .

Dombo that arse slapping sounds decidedly dodgy and well deserving of a "Basil" on it. Unless the mirrors were huge it means that they were only centremetres from just running you over  .

I bring good news. Just had a call from Barry, the only damage is 2 broken fingers and a sore shoulder (rotator cuff) but not broken, and feels twice as good as yesterday so pretty good considering.

Glad he's feeling a bit better, it was quite obvious at the time his fingers were broken by the way they were a tad bent...oooh nasty. Welcome to the club of broken bones.

Flippin' 'eck  What on earth were you lot up too??? I was feeling really miffed at not riding well and, well, it seems I either missed nothing much or else missed a hell of a lot, depending on your point of view!

Hope you're feeling better, Barry.

Dombo, don't suppose anyone was able to get that car's number plate? Sounds like he's the kind of driver we want off the road

Anyway, just to add to the catalogue of disasters, I had a slow puncture on the way home which eventually I had to sort out as the distance between stopping and pumping the tyre up became less and less. I got home and slept and slept and slept all Sunday afternoon and night and most of Monday too. Think I'm feeling better but still not feeling like eating much :(

Well Barry's been round to collect his bike and he was clearly making a fuss about nothing  . Happy, jovial, smiling, and a plaster holding 2 of his fingers together. Apart from one hand being slightly fatter than the other you'd never know anything had happened  .

Seriously though, it was good to see so little damage.
