OK, we have 5 definite and I believe 2 maybes, Alan, Amy, Andrew, Jon and Mark. I have posted it on some other forums in case there is interest more widely but it is not too late to book - I gather flights are still available ant the originally quoted price. Should be good and by then all being well I'll be a grandfather with all that implies for my cycling prowess!

Just an update - there are 5 def going Jon, Mark, Andrew, Amy and me. Maurice may ride with us while we are out there - He and Jon know the area well. We are staying here http://www.lanzarote-tour.com/lanzarote/apartments/apartamentos_lanzarote_bay/lanzarote_bay.php Lindsey (?) I think is planning to come but hasn't yet booked - so the provisional aim, subject to your ideas, is to ride together each day, maybe stringing out a bit on the hills and reforming for flatter sections - distances can be agreed but generally 50+ miles which will feel more due to the hills. The rest can take care of itself and all are welcome to vary their schedule according to personal goals etc. Personally I will be looking for some hard and some easier riding and will be trying to push myself at times (but you may not notice it). I am really looking forward to riding with you all and hopefully some early season sun and fun. Cheers, Alan

Lyndsey is booked as the fab 5 become the saucy 6, hotel arrangement as follows: all inclusive includes, breakfast, lunch, dinner, late evening toasted ham & cheese sandwiches, also snack food by the pool, ie burgers pizza, etc. The restaurant is buffet style, you can eat as much as you want, selection is good, also drinks at the bar are also included, If you want say Johnny Walker Black Label whisky, then you have to pay a small amount, but if you chose a Spanish brand, it's free. forcast for this week looks OK, hope it is typical http://www.holiday-weather.com/lanzarote/forecast/seven-day/

Well, I'm all booked up, taxi to the airport, document details on flights.... now, what kit are people taking? longs, shorts, what? Would three quarter longs be ok?

Oh and Mr Green jnr, your assistance in packing the bike in the bike bag will no doubt be invaluable as last time I made a right pig's ear of it.... Ta!

I've been in Feb before and took knee-warmers but didn't need them. Arm warmers are a good idea for first thing in the morning though. And a gilet or light showerproof jacket just in case.

Other than that, shorts, short sleeve jersey, suntan lotion and sunnies 8)

Google Weather says 20-21c and sunny for the week ahead, I would guess it won't be too dissimilar the week after.
