I believe there's a Trophy up for grabs from this Sunday's (Bexley CC) reliability ride. I think each rider gets a point for completing the short ride, or two points for the long ride. Club with the most points wins. If we have a turn-out like last week we'll be in with a shout.

Yes there is a trophy so we should look to get a decent turn out.

Dave, plan to go past west wickham but it is an early start leaving East Croydon at 7am. West Wickham at 7.15am.

Hopefully we won't get lost this time.

Jon, how long did it take you to get there from west wickham?

Cheers

It took me about an hour & 10 mins, but that included getting lost in the lanes NE of Orpington.

Anyone taking a car and able to offer a lift post here so we can get as many along as possible.

Cheers

For big turn outs and best hilly courses, these three are the best events as they start at Halstead/Knockholt (just past Biggin Hill), which is easy riding distance from Croydon.

9/1/06 Catford CC

12/2/06 Old Portlians CC

19/2/06 Sydenham Wheelers

They also finish by going up Toys Hill, Star Hill or Pole Hill, all of which are worth the price of admission alone (if you like that sort of thing).

Particularly savage is the Sydenham one which goes up the Fordcombe and Ashdown Forest climbs before finishing up Toys and Star hills. Highly reccomended.

My mistake - the Old Ports is the one with all the hills, the Sydenham is the long one at the end which is more like a race because the season just round the corner and all the 1st and 2nd cats come out

Cheers

Next one. Apparently this is a hilly one.

Knockholt is on the other side of Biggin Hill. I guess it should take less than an hour to get there from croydon.

29/1/06 Catford CC
Knockholt Village Hall, Knockholt, Kent. - Change of venue
100k and 50k starting from 0900hrs.

I guess that it would mean 8ish at East Croydon for a logical stating point and time but I think that I might take the car and do the longer ride as the ride home looks a bit of a boring mission. An alternative would be to ride from Sanderstead to Westerham along the Limpsfield road and cut off at Sundrige on the B221 but I think that there is a steep bit there. I have a cold so I will make a decision after tomorrow.

I can't decide between a reliability ride and a training race. What's everyone up to this sunday?
