Great report Adrian....I almost felt I was there :)

Looking forward to Essex on Sunday

I reckon we'll have to leave pretty early to be in the first group off.

Brilliant tale- well told.

I trust a knotted hankey- union jack- was atop of your head for full effect!

Well done, Sean. Ah, it's all coming back to me. Except the local produce and wine, which I seemed to miss. Who knows what might have happened if I'd got stuck in to that instead of the sali minerali?

Our favourite Belgian will be back next year - he may be dishappointed if we are not.

Really we hadn't noticed :D .
Good reading and I'm glad you were still fit and able to be distracted by the traffic cops towards the end. You are noticable a much stronger rider and better climber than the same time last year.

One thing that the fellas didn't really mention is just how hot it was. I went to the finish with Adrian's wife and Tammi (an American staying at our hotel) to try and catch them finishing. It really was burning hot and standing /walking around you just felt as though you were melting. This makes their achievments all the more impressive and to be honest I'm not sure I'd have been able to cope on the hills with such a strong sun beating down on me.

Due to the train times we arrived too late for Sean but met him to watch Adrian come in, sadly we couldn't wait for Dave as we had to get to the bus and I felt a bit mean as he was going to have no one to celebrate with.

I don't think I'll be back for the NC as I can't imagine it'll ever be much cooler, but will be back next year for the holiday as the hotel (and what little riding I experienced) is fantastic, probably end of April.

Journey there was an experience though and one I'm glad I did just to see what it was like as a practical proposition.

The support I got after my crash further demonstrated to me just what an excellent club this is to be a part of. Nearly good as new now and will be back on the CR tomorrow.
