John Bornhoft Memorial Hill Climb – Leith Hill – Saturday 3 October 2009

Entries are open for the Kingston Wheelers CC hill climb up Surrey’s Leith
Hill on Saturday 3 October.

Leith Hill is the South-East’s highest point and the hill climb uses the
southern route, up Abinger Road from Forest Green / Ockley (course code
GH/42). The climb should be familiar to many local club riders as well as
Surrey League racers.

The course is 1570 yards long. Bill Bell (Gemini BC) won the event in 2008,
breaking the course record by less than a second with a time of 03:44:50.

The race HQ is Forest Green village hall where there will be an ample supply
of cakes for riders and spectators alike.

Prize fund

The fastest time on the day gets the John Bornhoft Memorial Trophy for a
year and the total prize pot will be in excess of £150.

Entry details:

Enter online at <http://www.cyclingtimetrials.co.uk>
http://www.cyclingtimetrials.co.uk or send a CTT Hill Climb entry form and £6.50
cheque payable to “Kingston Wheelers CC” to: Tim Lawn, 87 Latchmere Lane,
Kingston, KT2 5SF.

The event is held in memory of John Bornhoft, a former President of the
Kingston Wheelers CC. John ran the club for many years and passed on an
infectious enthusiasm for all types of cycling to many current members of
the club. This race is held in his memory and is a tribute to his work for
the club.

Held under CTT regulations. Further details available at
