Repairing Assos shorts

Postby Will » Tue Sep 22, 2009 10:01 pm

My favourite Assos commuting shorts are slightly broken - the chamois is coming unstitched - and I'd like to get them repaired.

I don't think my sewing skills are up to fixing them, and was kind of thinking they may need slightly special attention anyway, so was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to where I might be able to send them?

I tried emailing Assos a few weeks ago but didn't get a response and was thinking that perhaps they deleted my email having decided I was a weirdo...

Try Alex Zebedee, she's a seamstress/cyclist and does repairs & alterations to cycling kit.

Email Assos again or phone them. I hear their after-sales service is second to none, even as far as replacing crash-damaged panels.

I haven't used Alex's services myself yet but no a couple who have. General comments were excellent service, price and turnaround.

Thanks guys.

After digging around I found that Assos do have a repair service which involves sending the shorts back to Switzerland and they (assuming it's not too badly damaged) fix it for free.

I reckon I'll give that a go.

You mean the club run?

No, happened on some ice out near Cobham about a week ago. :(
