Night ride - the return

Postby rollerskate skinny (sylv) » Tue Mar 23, 2004 9:58 am

Meet at 8pm Thursday 25th at the cab ranks at East Croydon rail station, for 1-1.5 hour of off-road fun on local rails. Bring strong lights and spare tubes. Bonus points for singlespeeds.

Please post or email if you intend to come along. See ya there!

Can we make it Wednesday? I've got theatre tickets for Thursday night and would like to claim my bonus points. Plus, we could ride, then go to the clubhouse for tea and cake. :D

Shall we make that 7.30pm instead of 8? In order to get to the club before closing time.

The things we'd do to eat cakes ... by the way, are there still cakes at the club? Who makes them? Can I have some treacle tart ???

I'm OK with that. So, 7:30pm, ECBR. Ride for about an hour and a half. Go to the club at about 9pm. Drink tea, eat chocolate and whinge about the lack of cake and treacle tart (if there isn't any). Sounds like a plan to me.

"off-road fun on local rails"?

sounds a bit dangerous - watch out for the trams

I'm not sure, but Grahame might have a spare set?

I've just stuffed myself with birthday cake (not mine), so will be taking it easy on the cakes tonight ...

I can bring my spare Smarts. They are not great (2.5W and 10W) but they are useable. Other question is charge state of the battery. I think it should be OK.
I'll chuck them in the back of the car, and park at the clubhouse so if you turn up, it'll be close to get to from ECBR.

Elliott, I promise if you come, we'll do the mischievous "tram tracks" section at the top of Lloyds Park ;-)

im going to whimp out tonight, even with the promise of some lights, dont want to risk doing myself a mischief just 4 days before a big race... recon i will be safer indoors... and dryer...

although might nip down the club house to see the state of you guys when you get back.
