Hi All - some help please
Just replaced my chain - old one worn to 0.75 - and it slips!!!
Now I change my chains regularly as soon as they reach 0.75 wear and never let them go to 1.0. I've never had slipping problems since I adopted this regime and I must have replaced the chain four or five times in the last couple of years.
The only thing that's different this time is the make of chain. I have always used KMC chains but this time I used a Shimano (the only one they had in the shop). Could that explain the problem? Should I keep to KMC? or shouldn't it matter?
or regardless of how careful you are does it mean that the cassette will wear eventually and it's simply just come to the end of it's life? The cassette is a shimano ultra about two years old and I probably ride 2,500 miles a year.
any ideas gratefully received.
thanks
Jon
