I was there, it was a very good day, lots of racing.
Simon was on the gate marshalling, looked after my bikes while i went and parked a mile away...
i ended up racing in the omnium as there wasnt enough women to have our own races. bit of a shame, but had a good time regardless.
Bryan Taylor won everything ( except for penny farthings and recumbants)
the couriers race was fun to watch, as was the commuters.
It was the first time I had seen a penny farthing ridden, rather than being a prop in a museum.
the weather was good and there was lots of support from the crowds who turned up. only one addiscombe rider there, Chris i think his name is.
saw him on monday at eastway as well.
i joined the roadmans race at the end of the day as well. i was the only female in it, and being the weakest link by far, got blown away pretty quickly. i didnt mind though, the point i tried to make by doing it was to show that it wasnt a mens only race and that women could have a go at if they wanted to. had there been a few more then we could have had our own race and things would have been far more interesting.
still, it was a very good day and the pics are posted on londoncyclesport.com
hope to see some more of you over there this summer.
