As for bargains - it all depends on what you're looking for. It can be good for some things - inner tubes, chains are normally good stock items to get. Otherwise it depends on what they have in and what you want/like. And then you have to weigh against some of the pretty good savings you can get elsewhere nowadays...

I'm going to be riding over with an old and slow friend probably on the tourer with panniers, just in case (need new shorts and new pedals for the tourer) unless the weather's too cold/wet and then we'll get a lift over and the train back.
