A few years ago on the way to Charlwood I hit a diesel patch and took a slide going round a roundabout. My nice yellow winter ACC top now looked like a mechanics rag at the end of a busy day in the garage. Waiting in the queue for tea and cake I was discussing the art of getting the stains out (as you do in a queue full of men waiting for tea) Up piped Grahame who susgested WD-40
, yip I thought the same !! WHAT you must be joking right? Not at all he said, with a smirk of a man who sounded confident enough already to have tried it. Well what have I to lose? So sprayed the stains with WD-40 left it to soak for about 15 min then in washing machine. Repeated this a few times and hey presto most of the oily stuff had been removed to my amazement. Granted it wasn't perfect, but good enough to carry on wearing for another few years. It does smells like WD-40 after washing, but once it's dry no smell
