Why...

...do the pro teams not have rain jackets/capes in team colours? Most are just a single plain colour and if anything just have the primary sponsor on it once across the back. I wouldn't be too pleased as a sponsor if my name got covered up, why arent they mirrors of the team kit?

Also why do so many have full elasticated waists? I only spotted a couple today that had any form of drop tail, and they weren't that great. Pro or clubman riding for hours in the rain on wet roads with a soaking wet bum isn't very comfortable or hygienic. I'll let them off not having full 'guards  . This is just a plain stupid design flaw in most rain jackets these days, hardly any of them have a drop tail.

Does make it easier to escape if other riders can't immediately identify who you are....

Yes but you can't escape as quickly when you're riding in a parachute  . The drop tail won't make a jacket any less aero, if they were remotely bothered which they don't seem to be judging by the tents they were in yesterday.

Maybe the jacket fabrics aren't too good for printing lots of colours and complicated patterns onto?
