Leaving aside the fact that Landis is a proven lying drug cheat, his claims do have a touch of the Fayed about them.
$100,000 bribe to the UCI to hush up positive drug tests? So that's 70,000 quid that puts LA at lifetime risk of bribery from anybody involved, and the UCI officials at the same risk? Blood bags stored in a fridge in a closet? Chicken salad and beer maybe. LA spent over a year undergoing treatment for cancer. Is he really going to trust a domestic fridge and a teammate (Yo Floyd, ah'm jiss nippin' out for a ride, make sure the power doesn't go off) to keep in tip top condition something he's going to inject into himself?
A temporary power cut while Landis is out shopping and how's he going to know? VCR clock flashing? Then what? Taste the blood? Smell it?
Administering transfusions to teammates? Yeah right. That's why whenever I donate blood they give me a bag and a syringe and let me get on with it rather than have a trained nurse do it.
As for involving federal funds (US Postal) with drugs....hmmm, Iran-Contra anyone? Can't see that one getting to court.

Anyway, I've said it before, if it wasn't for our little annual exchanges, Marco and I would hardly ever speak. It's deja vu all over again :D

FWIW Sylvia Schenk has it at $500,0000 from 2005 - Marco has probably posted this at some time

But he HAS tested positive. For Corticosteroids. He was allowed to submit a backdated "prescription" in contradiction to the UCIs own rules on disclosure.
Very admirable. That makes Bjarne Riis drug free as well!

Sorry, I should also add if he admits to it.

Of course it was backdated. Dated before the test? It could hardly be post-dated could it? And it was for saddle sores on his @r$e.

Armstrong: I have sued a few people in my day and you know, been successful there and proved my innocence through that and I don’t need to do that anymore.

Armstrong seems to have a rather lower standard of proof than you do, given that as far as I know he has settled all drug-related allegations out of court.

The problem is that athletes are expected to provide prescriptions for any drugs they are using before the test. This is their responsibility. He failed a test. Then was allowed (in a way that is regarded by WADA as "irregular" at least) to provide a prescription after the result was published. There was no evidence that the corticosteroid was actually prescribed before the failed test, and the regulations required that the athlete declare any medications before their use, not after.

He had a prescription for saddle sores on his ar$e? How were they applied? Intraveinously, orally, a cream or as a suppository?
Surely the prescription was for the corticosteroid?

You can get saddle sores in a cream? I bet that's a top seller in the peloton  .
"Saddle sore cream, Saddle sore cream. Get your steroid excuses here."

@Dombo : It seems that no traceable proof is no proof in its own right anymore.

A seasoned drink driver who avoids the police for 10 years is no less a drink driver.

I'm not saying that Lance is cheating or lying. Its just that that argument is very weak at best.

mmmm......imagine... a regular villiage pub goer of ten years who is breath tested everytime he leaves the pub, randoms tests carried out when he is at home, stopped regularily whilst driving his car and tested (all with negative results of course) can still be classed a "Drink Driver" by the villiage gossips - I suppose he can.

But in the real world......
