Bad luck Alan!

Get some of those Tyler pills and you'll be fine for the rest of July.

Sorry to hear about this Alan, I hope it heals up quickly for you.

Ironically the night before your crash both my team mates and I were involved in a mass pile up in a race out here. We were 800m from sprinting for 3rd place, so you can imagine the speeds.

Anyhow, my team mate Josh ended up with a broken wrist and a bike that had been smashed to pieces. While I escaped with more minor injuries, I did land heavily on my head and shoulder. The latter of which was diagnosed ''Well, I don't think it's broken, but I'm not sure'', evidently it's not, or at worst it was a really minor crack she could see. I do however, still have some multi-coloured brusing around my shoulder, over two weeks on!

Cycling ay, don't you just love it.

Thanks Adam

Yes, I guess I am evaluating the risks of racing and age. My shoulder although bruised hasn't really bothered me but I have pulled tendons and bruised muscles in my thigh and am hobbling around full of drugs to control the pain. I reckon 6 weeks off the bike at a minimum and have started a bit of physiotherapy. My therapist thinks I have lost half an inch off the circumference of my thigh in just 2 weeks so I now need to exercise with alternate hot and cold packs applied to the painful bits. I still have to go to the GP nurse to change bandages on a deep wound on my elbow. Grrrrrr....

Still I have watched all the tour stages!

cheers

My first ride in 6 weeks. Not too bad considering zero exercise due to hip injury. But felt v tired later in day and suffered cramp. Stayed with a slow 17mph group and rode back solo to keep steady pace. Ended with a puncture! Collect finally repaired Colnago tomorrow. Tuesday to see bone doctor at Mayday. Need some steady miles over the next few week But back on the bike at least!
