Thank You.....

Thank you to the club as a whole for stopping after yesterdays mishap and to those of you who helped to get me standing up. That was very charitable and much appreciated. A particular thanks to George , Ben , and Tim who dragged me back to South Croydon where I punctured more or less outside GB's which is where I left my bike for repair. They kept the pace sendentry and made sure I didn't lag behind which was very good of them.
Mrs S came and collected me to take me home where her and the three year old did a sterling job in looking after me. The five year old made it quite clear that I had buggered up her afternoon activities that mum had in store for her and carried the strop into the evening and for all I know may well continue with it this morning. There was a slight cause for alarm when my wife said my speech was slurring and I was shuffling around like a tramp and she thought this might be concussion. However, her fears were put to one side when I mentioned the three double whiskeys and perhaps one too many Co-codemol might be the reason.
There wasn't much sleep last night as I couldn't lay down so I tried to sleep upright on the sofa which was ok until , just as I was about to drop off ,I kept falling over to one side. At about four I got the munchies and had a small bar of chocolate which was a mistake because I forgot about the dribble factor when sleeping upright . It wasn't a pretty sight this morning.
Last week didn't start off too well as on Monday somebody changed the length of nails in the nail gun and I inadvertently nailed my finger to a piece of wood, on Wednesday I slipped off a ladder carrying a bundle of roof slates , and on Friday I had quite a vivid premonition that it was about time I came off my bike.I think perahps I should have stayed at home yesterday and saved some hassle.
Again , a very big thank you.

Lee glad you're ok and hope you mend quickly and get back on your bike.
Maybe you can pick up one of those new Boardmans that will be out soon if your bike's buggered.

Sorry that you'd had the accident, but pleased to have been able to assist and glad I had the mini first-aid pack that the club got for all the VC's to carry the other year.
Being in the last group to leave the cafe, when we came across you, Ben and George we thought you'd had a puncture so when George said "hang on and we'll ride back with you guys" we thought "Yeah, like we'll keep up to the end of the road!" At least I can saw I once kept up with George all the way back from rode back from Charlwood! :D
I saw Peter M in the evening and he told me a bit more about what had happened (he was the rider right behind you when you went down and probably hit your helmet). It seems some riders were just changing groups without due care and attention to grab a faster wheel.

I hope your back is easing up and the repairs aren't to costly.
