This is why tights are tight...

From my work elf n safety department:

[quote]A recent accident occurred when one of our employees in the Aberdeen office attended a spin class at the local gym, I know spin classes are popular with gym goers from the London office so be careful:

Dear All

As I expect some of you will have heard a member of staff has had a nasty accident (bad ankle fracture) due to trapping of their trousers in a spin bike at the RGU gym. This type of exercise bike has a heavy weight spinning wheel which continues rotating even if you stop. Normal exercise bikes just stop when you do.

This is obviously not a workplace accident but as so many of us here use a gym, a warning seems appropriate. I have spoken to the manager at Nuffields (ex Cannons), they regard spin bikes as dangerous kit and do not allow unsupervised access. In spin classes the leader inspects clothing for suitability beforehand. So whichever gym you attend - avoid loose clothing if you are using a spin bike. Safe pedalling

All you flare-wearers have been warned.
