Dog gate needed!

Postby Roy Green » Sun Apr 24, 2011 5:55 pm

Well, an old unwanted baby gate really. It's not for Andrew, but to keep my lovable border collie cross confined to the kitchen when we are not around (after a few 'accidents').

The latest types all seem to be Elf 'n Safety conscious; with wall fixings and not easy to move away. We are after the type that was general years ago, with screw-out fittings for a temporary fix-and-remove use.

Any kind offers? Thanks. :)

Ive got one you can have. You do have to scew the hinges and catch onto the door frame though.

Hi Paul, thanks for the offer. However, if it needs screw fixings, I fear it might not suit my fixing situation.

It's just an opening between the rooms with a cabinet one side that wouldn't take screw-on hinge and catch fittings too easily. I've just bought one from Mothercare (not been in there for decades!) which is permanent-fix type, which I'll be returning. The sort I am looking for is the oldie type which fitted into openings by means of screwouts with rubber ends gripping each side; only hope perhaps is that someone has one buried in an attic ...

Many thanks for your quick response.

Roy, i've got a pressure fit one you're welcome to. Will fit a gap of about 3ft.
I think this is the one:

Very many thanks, Dan. In fact, a friend nearby has just come up with one very similar to yours which fits OK. So only the dog  is not happy now!

Thanks again (also to Paul again) for the offer. Shows what a useful Forum this is for other things besides cycling. :D
