Critical Mass Croydon

Postby Jon C C on a Bianchi » Thu Sep 15, 2011 7:12 pm

I received this via the club email. Might be of interest to some of you.

Jon

A few days ago I (nb that's not me, Jon) emailed friends at Greenpeace, FOE and the Green Party about Critical Mass cycling at Croydon.
I proposed doing this quite legally to encourage participation from as many people as possible including children.

We meet at Queens Gardens, by Croydon Library on Friday the 30th of September at 7pm. The idea being to show everyone that cyclists are a force to be reckoned with and not merely to be 'cut up' pushed aside and from an economic perpective to be brushed aside.

Critical Mass, the perfect way to annoy all the people you share the road with and make cyclists life more unpleasant and viewed as vigilante scum.

Because the best way to put your side of an argument across is always to bash the other person's head against a wall until they agree with you.

Abso-bloody-lutely!!

And I think it's great that even though we're barred from expressing party political opinion on here, that doesn't stop us having a pop at the whale-shaggers!!!

Perhaps there's more than one kind of flatulence?

I think it's a fantastic idea and will be there  Hopefully all those who helped themselves to bikes from Bike Plus, evans, GB's cycless and Cycle King will be there too and the police can relieve them of the free bikes with a whack around the ears.

If I turned up it would be to take the p*** out of C.M. for thinking that such a show will make the slightest difference to the prat who suddenly turns across you at Reigate or wherever, or commits other such motoring pratfalls. Will such types be at Croydon on Sunday to observe, mark and learn? Thought not.
So put me down as:
