The worst kind of news. Had dinner with Rob after the Tour of the Black Mountains one year - he was fine company. Really sad to hear this.

Shocking news, such a nice bloke and always laughing or taking the piss. Lived near me and from time to time would pass him, sometimes with his partner, as I was riding home and he was just setting off for a run.

A tragic loss so young.

Absolute top lad, always looked out for me when I was younger out on the club run and rides etc. Thoughts and prayers with his family and loved ones.

Marco, I am totally devastated. When you told me this morning I had no idea who you were talking about - I never knew his surname, it didn't for a second occur to me that it was 'that Rob'. And not least because I saw him as young, fit, and healthy.

I really am gutted. The guy was, and I'm not just saying this because it's the thing to say when someone passes away, a genuinely lovely and likeable person. He will be greatly missed by me.

My thoughts and prayers are with him, his family, and all those close to him.

Tragic :(

Rob collapsed suddenly and couldn't be revived. He was in apparent good health, but there will be an autopsy.
As soon as I hear details of his funeral, I'll post here.

I was looking at the photos and thinking - he can't be that old. Such a tragic event, sorry to hear of his loss, especially for his family.

Tragic news. I'd shared a few rides with Rob and he was truly excellent company, especially in Majorca last year. My thoughts go out to his family and loved ones.

Completely shocked to hear Rob has passed away. I rode with Rob a bit in 2007/9 on clubruns and sportives. Hadn't seen him much over the last year or so but was hoping to bump into sometime on the clubrun.
He seemed fit and healthy and a strong rider. All around great guy who made me laugh which isn't always easy after a tough ride like ToBM 2008.
Will be missed.
My condelences to his family.

I believe only in his mid 30s.
