Sexism in cycling

Postby Amy » Wed Dec 14, 2011 11:48 am

Realised that the working bit on my Park Tools chainbreaker had come adrift (it screws in) and was missing, so decided to go and buy a new one. So I popped into Cycle Surgery near me at work and not only did they have Park Tools but they had spare bits for the chain tool and were £10 cheaper than buying a whole new one :D

So I wandered around and decided that I really did need a new pair of winter gloves and some earwarmers too. Took them to the till and gave all 3 items to the man there - he duly counts out the items, "hat, gloves, oh these aren't yours!" and goes to put the Park Tools spares to one side

Everyone know girls can't use tools; you need to get a man in luv.

Yeah, I just stand by the side of the road and look helpless - or is that hopeless?

I've been informed that women can multi-task, so presumably both?

Not true! You ever heard of a woman having a headache and also able to have sex?

Taxi.....

Rob, just because you are on the other side of the world, doesn't mean you can get away with that.... I'll get you whenever you make it back to this country... Of course, your wife could be trying to give you a hint - which is a waste of time, you can't give hints to men, they need it spelled out plainly

Mind you, a live-in mechanic would be useful - for the things that need a bit more strength than I can give.

Amy, that was not a good experience, I hope that it was a genuine mistake on his behalf...
