Ever had one of these moments?

Postby Amy » Sun Feb 19, 2012 8:40 pm

Just had a real wtf moment

Bike's been sitting in it's usual place in the flat since yesterday and I started changing the bars over for some Ritchey ones I'd bought recently: an activity that ceased as soon as I realised that I'll be needing a new stem too (good job too as it means I can try for a shorter stem).

Got home from parents' about 4pm, did some things in the flat, washed up, had dinner etc... Walk up and down the flat cos I wanted something in the bedroom, pass the bike, when I hear a strange noise... First I think it's the cistern doing something strange - no, noise not coming from there; downstairs flat (they've just moved in...)? no... I'm sure I hadn't put water in the kettle on let alone turned it on - though I was thinking of making a cup of tea - not the kettle boiling dry... phew.

Oh, it's my front tyre

Why? It's been sitting there for over 24 hours since I rode it; the cat wasn't any where near it and I never even touched it

Found the cause of the sudden release of air - but why it waited all this time to go...

Tube's a write-off anyway.

Had one a couple of months ago. Rode to work and put the bike in the basement with tyres fully inflated and no air escaping went to ride home in the evening and had a flat rear. No-one had disturbed it as it's tucked out the way in an unused corner. Never worked out what happened, guess a slow puncture.
