Olympic - Time Trial

Postby Alex P » Sat Apr 07, 2012 10:31 pm

If anybody is planning to go to the Olympic Time Trial the route is shown below.

1 Aug
10:00–11:30 • Womens Individual Time Trial, victory ceremony
13:00–16:15 • Mens Individual Time Trial, victory ceremony

Hampton Court (the start) will be a great place to see it but think that it might get a bit packed but there are lots of other options e.g. Bushy Park

Alternativily if enough people are going and with enough interest I could organise a location on the route with food and refreshments.

Hopefully they are going to resurface Hampton Court Way as like the zig zags, not a good reflection of our roads.

I also think that the locals will not be happy as this will seriously mess up the roads with two bridges taken out!

I intend to be at my parents' as they're right on the Hampton Court Way on one of the turns :D

Alex, if you could bring the refreshments there, it'd be perfect! Plenty of room for bike parking, easy access to loo and can catch riders on the Portsmouth Road part of the course 8)

Be bliss if they resurface the HCW  Most of it is concrete slab construction...

ps Also Hampton Court itself and the first loop is a short ride away by various back roads and there are several pubs in the vicinity of my parents'...
