I went due East in order to leave Brooklyn and Queens and enter Long Island's quieter roads. 1.5 hours later I was still lost and back in Brooklyn.... So for the umpteenth time I pulled over and checked my folded map. 5 minutes later I hear a shout to my right and I'm confronted by a semi naked guy standing on the nearest doorstep, in just boxers, waving his arms and yelling "Are you nicking my mail?". He continued to yell as I turned and smiled innocently. Funny thing is I didnt even realize he was yelling at me, didnt even realize what he was going on about. Luckily I worked out which way to go and left before he got any nearer. Actually I still went the wrong way!!! 4 hour ride and I never got off a city street......
Darn Rednecks everywhere.
Any more experiences like that and I'll be on Jerry.
