How are you getting to the cricket club (unofficial thread)

So.. i'm all of a quandary!

In an ideal world i'd cycle, but my lady is not a keen cyclist...

I know the rest of the world are using Dorking Deepdene or Boxhill and Westhumble with their official tickets and free travel - so thats going to be mayhem. Also its a serious uphill trek of a few miles to get there and also you have to have tickets to be allowed to walk in that area - i know we have these wrist bands but i don't want to risk some security numpty not allowing us through!!!

Fiona and I recce'd it and it would seem although the B2032 ("Dorking Road" leading down from the A217 past the Pfizer building and golf club/speed camera and over the M25) is a tow away zone its not going to be closed. On that basis i am going to try and get a lift/cab as far down it as we can and then walk from the junction of that and Headly Common Road - (where Dorking Road turns into Pebblehill Road -the steep hill!)

Anyone got any better suggestions?!

Anyone got a helicopter? or fancy hiring one LOL!

There is a bridleway off Sturts Lane in Walton (map link) which if you follow round to the cricket ground (zoom out a bit) will get you there. If you can find somewhere to park in Walton. I suspect that many people will have the same idea - in fact places like the pony club are already pre-booking for parking spaces.

Can't she WTFU and ride the 2 or 3 miles from somewhere parkable?

Jean and I have booked a place at the Mid-Surrey Pony Club, Tadworth, car park, north of the Cricket Club. It's about a mile walk along a bridleway path.

Not sure John - I'm not that organised! Possibly Norwood junction 0933-Tadworth 1006.
