Recycling old tires

Anyone know where I might be able to take my old tires for recycling?

For example, do any of the local bike shops take them in for recycling? Or do you know of any places that turn them into other items - like a messenger bag I found -? Both tires are Michelin Pro-Race - do Michelin take back old tires? Or does anyone in the club want them? Maybe for tire liners? Not much wear, just cut to pieces by all the cr@p on the roads (NOT suitable for riding)
