Best Restaurant in Croydon Area?

Postby Tony » Wed Oct 03, 2012 11:18 pm

I'm interested to know which restaurants in the Croydon area people like. Bagatti's (Italian in South Croydon) looks quite good.... Anyone ever tried it? Any alternatives? Cuisine is not so important and happy to pay a premium for a good place. Having not been out in Croydon for a while (tend to go out closer to work or typically to a country-pub at the weekend), I'd be very appreciative of all construtive suggestions.

Albert's table, Fish and Grill and Aqua (all fairly near to GBs) are very good.
Fish and Grill often have offers on Top Table.

Albert's Table can be a bit pretencious but the food is good.

Bagatti is quite good, used to be a small family place next to it but think that's closed now. For Indian the place opposite the half n half is good.

Alberts table is very good. I took a client there quite recently and I was very impressed with the quality of the food, service and also the bill. For lunch it is extremely reasonable.

Cheers

only thing they share in common is the street - it is a pity that there are so few good ones and a lot of dross. My favourite in Addiscombe is http://www.thanhsbistro.co.uk/ which is vietnamese family style place - good for vegetarian food and you need to take your own wine.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Went to Alberts Table last Friday and pretty much concur with everything said. Thought the portion sizes were maybe a little small - but still felt well stuffed by the end!

Yvonne and I will be coming up to Fairfield on Friday 26th and will be looking for a decent restaurant, so can anyone tell me where Alberts Table is?
Cheers,
John.

It's very handy for GB's - just a few doors up. http://goo.gl/maps/2d6WI
