I ride to work on a fixed wheel, today punctured. Fitted new tube, blew tyre up and the wheel rim split!!Mavic ma40,grey anodised.split horizontally along the brake surface for about4 ins!! Now need to have it re-built.Anyone else had this problem?? :cry:

this usually happens when the braking surface is worn very thin....?

The surface does look a bit thin but its split higher up really just below where the tyre sits on the rim. :?
