Taking a break from trying to get my re-built work computer to do anything useful, the other day I spotted "Bakewell Tart" flavoured gels in Butlers. This is a bit unusual but is still in the formula "sweet with a dessert type flavour". It strikes me that there's some scope for more interesting gels - an area that hasn't really been explored.
Energy food can taste a bit sticky so perhaps humus geeks and then they'll look similar coming up as going down.
Torq do some different flavours, their blackcurrant yogurt one is nice but has to be taken with liquid like a lot of other gels. Switched back to SIS as although not as nice can be taken without water which is better when racing.
I've tried using twiglets on a long hard ride. They aren't quite what suits me though - a little bit too salty. I reckon if you put beef gravy into a Camelbak, then that would keep nice and warm for a long TT. A couple of Yorkshires in the back of the aero helmet and that would be good.
