I am writing to you as a Police Sergeant for Surrey Police as I have your details as either being the chair or connected with a local cycling club, my apologies if this information is incorrect.

The purpose of this email is to advise you and your members of a road closure that is due to take place on Box Hill Road in Mole Valley.

We are very much aware that the Box Hill area is a very popular area for road cycling. Following some issues at a recent road closure in Ockley, we thought it pertinent to advise local clubs and their riders of this road closure as it will impact on all users of this section of road.

The road closure will commence on Tuesday 12th August 2014 (two days after the Ride London) and will continue for 2 weeks, including the weekend of 16th/17th August 2014.

Box Hill Road will be closed approximately 300m from the junction with Headley Road. There will be diversions in place and we would encourage recreational riders and clubs to consider their routes in this area.
