*** HELPERS NEEDED - BEASTWAY MTB 27th JULY ***

Postby sylv » Tue Jul 05, 2005 8:19 pm

Like every year Beastway is promoting one of the Beastway round, it is scheduled for Wednesday 27th July.

We will be needing upwards of ten people from approx. 6.30pm, to take in the duties of marshalling and time-keeping. If you can make it earlier your help would be much appreciated for building the course from 3pm. I will be there helping.

The race takes place at the famous Eastway cycling circuit in North-East London, the races start from 7.30pm and last more or less an hour. The course is generally around 3 miles long, with the faster riders completing six laps. The pace for the Experts is fast and furious, and for some of the junior or senior categories, much more relaxed, but somehow everyone can race at the same time without getting in each other's way.

The Beastway team have always been appreciative in particular of Addiscombe's help, and rewarded the club with part of the money made on the entry fees - generally around £100.

Please let me know if you would be happy to give us a hand on that evening, it would be much appreciated - there is a clubhouse with tea and cakes, toilets etc. Post here or email me at sgarde@clsholdings.com

Thanks!

Sylvain

Thanks to all who have volunteered :D . I've sent you all an email on Friday.

Don't forget to shout abuse at racers Richard (#39) and Joel (#98 )

And watch out for the three Sport riders who are leading the overall rankings, each with the same number of points: # 15, 48, 138.

What great weather!

I'll be riding back home from work at lunchtime and then driving to eastway, with some dry and water-proof clothes, which I don't have at the moment, and a big thermos of hot coffee ...

I'll be able to give lifts afterwards.

Thanks to all who came and helped in the rain.
Tim- I have your umbrella. How do you want to get it back? Do you live close enough to Coulsden South that if I brought it on Saturday, you could get it home and return in time for the club run?

Not sure Tim is on the forum Grahame, I'll email him. It was only his spare umbrella though, so I don't think it?s an emergency. I'll let you know.

Addiscombe CC received a £100 cheque today from the Beastway organisation.

They pass on their thanks to all those who came to give a hand on our promotion evening.

Attendance this year has been the best so far with on average 153 riders each week. Next year is likely to be the last at the current venue, and the series should be a special one.
