Vélo Vert! (singlespeed content)

Postby sylv » Wed Aug 10, 2005 1:39 pm

Some of you might remember I mentioned I'd written an article for the main French mtb mag Vélo Vert - well here it is!

After a 25 page feature dedicated to singlespeed, its origins, bikes etc in the July issue, there is in the September issue a four-page article/report I wrote after the UK champs, along with pictures some people were kind enough to send me. There is even a sketch by the mag's resident cartoonist!

The July issue was a real success and a good number of people have reacted to it on the mag's forum or by mail, planning or having already converted an old bike to a single gear, to try it out and find out by themselves what all this fuss is about =) [what are you waiting for?]. There is a big gathering planned for the Roc d'Azur (the World's biggest mtb event in the South of France in October, more than 10,000 riders).

I won't be making this as will be in Moab with Grahame and Will (that's life), but am planning to give a go to the Ro'ch des Monts d'Arrée, in Britanny on 17/18 September - choice of distance up to 100km. There should be quite a few singlespeeders there too. If anyone is interested (gears allowed!), let me know ... info on http://www.lesroch.org

Time to work on your French now!
