Anyone running Shimano gears on Campag wheels?

If so do you know what I replace a seized freehub on my Sciroccos with - does a standard Shimano one fit, or is it an obscure Campag item? Can't find anyone who seems to know and can't find anything with a web search....

Or.................Use a Mavic cassette straight on the Shimano Hub. Mavic make a Shimano fitting but Campag compatalble (chain) cassette in 8, 9 and 10 speed. The only difference between the 8 and 9 speed is the 'spacers'. 50 to 60 odd quid should get you one, depending where you get it.

PS, they're very light too!

60 quid?

i'm a bit confused here, by freehub i mean just the freewheel mechanism that fits on to the campag hub and then the shimano cassette slots onto that.

but yes i should just ask in butlers, after all they sold me the wheels already shimano compatible.

i suspect however (after reading the campag website) that it's just a standard shimano one. for which i have a couple of spares already. just that there aren't any identifying logos on the freehub.

time for some quality time in the garage this weekend.
