Free Track Bike

A while ago Marco Offered a free track bike (possibly colnago) and as first one to go for it I got it. I found that it was probably too small - my guess is it would fit someone around 5'9. In the meantime, I have cleaned it up considerably and it looks not too bad. I had also decided that I would either need to rebuild or get new whells and that looked like costing up to £150. In the end I was tempted to buy a basic machine from GB and got the 20% discount - so this one is available for anyone who is interested and first claim from any ACC member secures it with the proviso that it is recycled back to another club member if like me or Marco you decide not to use it.

I have recently rebuilt a 60's track frame as a budget fixed wheel. If the ACC track bike needs any "doing up" I'd recommend ebay or Young's Cycles in Coney Hall. I got a budget set of clincher wheels from them for £70 the pair. Track nuts on rear and Q/R front, but you could probably get track nuts front for a similar price if you are wanting to use it on the track. Obviously they're not the top notch but they are fairly light and run well so far.

I have a taker for the bike - a very deserving newly -wed!!

The set up from GB is as follows

GB frame, allegedly from same manufacturer as Dolan, with Carbon forks, any colour as long as it is blue
Ambrosia Pista wheels - flip flop rear with Miche 15t and 14t cogs
Miche transmission (165 crank) and seat pin
Michelin pro light tyres
Elite Original saddle
Deda stem and track specific bars

With 20% discount it came to a price of £607 which includes build up cost of £50

Fantastic Alan,

I bet that rocks. Can't wait to see it. Flip flop is the only way to go.

I went down to GBs and got a specialixed langster for cycling to work only cost 320 + 9.20 for the fixed wheel. Got a bike bag for 48 squid for majorca too.

Don't know if I will take it out tomorrow.
