Hampton Swimming Pool

Postby David Lombari » Mon Jan 23, 2006 11:17 am

Was only able to go on a three hour ride on Saturday so went for a ?breakfast? ride to Hampton Swimming Pool via Richmond Park (45 mile, 3 hr, round trip from Sydenham).

The pool is open air but heated to 32c so is nice and toasty and was fairly busy (as I was riding back, I didn?t have a swim but may do when the weather picks up). I sat on the sun deck, IN THE SUN!, eating a lovely warm bowl of porridge. It really is a great facility and good way to start the day.

Bikes can be locked up just outside the office and can be seen from the café, so they?re fairly safe. And Sigma is just down the road in Hampton Wick, so you can do a bit of shopping too (don?t take your credit card!).

Thames Turbo do their triathlon series there - run on Bank Holiday Mondays. Looks fantastic.
